21 Buttons - 21 Days (DAY 16)

You've seen this one before. This is the button that started it all. Today, I'll be pulling down the Obama buttons from my Etsy site to make room for other merchandise. The sales have slowed considerably in the past few days which is to be expected. Someone purhased a button from my Etsy store last night and it will just make it to her in time for the election. Don't fret, I still have other buttons to show you in the next few days. I just wanted to acknowledge the first button that sparked the rest.

Every election cycle a certain demographic segment comes to the fore: Hockey Moms. NASCAR Dads. Jai Alai Sisters. Knitting Cousins. Football Nieces. You get the picture. No demographic segment is too small or too insignificant. Now you can customize your pin and show support for Barack Obama. Or leave it blank and keep 'em guessing.

This button was inspired by the 2008 Vice Presidential Debate. 

"Maverick" is word that's bandied about quite a bit. You think you know what it means and then The New York Times publishes a story about The Mavericks. If you're a Maverick (with a capital "M") or you just march to the beat of a different drummer, this button might just be for you.

Launching Union Park

Yes, you're all invited to the launch of Union Park -- Invitations, Announcements and Calligraphy with a Personal Touch.

I've been working with a letterpress printer on designing wedding invitation suites, baby announcements and holiday cards all summer. We have been going back and forth on colors, type styles, designs, etc. Now I actually have live samples of my work executed beautifully in letterpress. I'll be putting up a website shortly featuring my samples, but for now you'll have to come by and say hi to see the work.

Sometimes the buttons are inspired by the news cycle. Exhibit A: Joe the Plumber. I'm not going to weigh in on whose tax plan benefits said plumber more, but I thought that since the United Association of Plumbers, Steamfitters and Service Mechanics support Barack Obama, it would be fitting to design a button that shows their support. 

As someone whose water heater tank recently gave out, I have enormous respect for the talented tradesmen and women who make civilized life possible. I'm talking to you S & S Plumbing and Heating. I love you guys!
