Here are some images taken between 11 and 11:30 am today.
As predicted, there's quite a turn out today.
The line snakes through the interior of the gymnasium and out the door, and then down the street.
There's another polling station a few blocks away.
Notice the line extending all the way back to the fence -- it goes all the way down the street.
Voting seems to be going smoothly, albeit slowly. People seem to have been standing in line for 30 minutes or so. It helps that the weather is pleasant -- sunny an in the 60s today here in Boston.
As someone who lives an works in the South End, I actually recognize quite a few of these people standing in line. I'm not necessarily on speaking terms with them but I recognize them when they are out and about, walking their dogs, running their errands.
So there it is, the orderly transfer of power. No riots, no political assassinations, no coups -- just regular people taking time out of their day to cast their vote. Afterwards, they're off to their jobs and their families, and their communities and their friends, anonymously unfolding the course of American history.
